With roof soft washing the difference you will notice on the day the job is completed is the moss will be gone from the tiles but it will not look like a sparkling clean roof. The biocide treatment applied once the moss has been removed can take a few months to kill all of the remaining growth on the tiles, when the treatment has killed/removed then the colour of the roof will show through.
Roof Pressure Washing / Steam Cleaning :
Roof Pressure washing on the other hand gives instant clean results on the day and the tiles will be as physically clean as they can be.
Once the roof has been pressure washed / steam cleaned a biocide treatment is then applied afterwards to help delay any regrowth.
Most asked roof cleaning questions:
Will pressure washing damage my roof?
The pressure used to clean your roof is not damaging to the tiles, just enough pressure is used to remove the growth. A majority of concrete roof tiles on UK home have a colour coating put on. This becomes worn over the years by the harsh UK weather condition, this being the reason when a roof is clean by either soft washing or pressure washing the colour the roof ends up on older property is a beige concrete colour. This is not due to the pressure washer damaging the tiles and removing the coating the weather has done this over the many years
How do you access my roof?
To clean a roof we use one of 3 access methods;
- Our portable scaffold tower and telescopic lances/scrapers
- Accessing the roof via roofing ladder and fall arrest equipment.
- Using a MEWP for really hard to access roofs
With every roof being different its hard to say the best and safest way to access your roof without first seeing the property.
What if i have any broken tiles?
If you roof is heavily covered in moss there is a high chance of a couple of broken tiles. Within all our roof cleans we replace up to 5 broken tiles included in the price quoted.
How long will my roof stay moss free?
The manufacture of the biocide treatment we apply to the roof states regrowth should not appear for around the 4 year mark, this period can be prolonged with a maintenance treatment if required.
Will my gutters be blocked after cleaning my roof?
The simple answer is NO, all guttering is either capped off or disconnected before a we clean the roof to ensure no blockages occur within the downpipe. Once the roof clean has been completed all guttering is then fully cleared of debris before reconnecting the downpipes.
